Endicott Arm

Lying just east of Glass Peninsula and south of Tracy Arm,  Endicott Arm is a fjord. We entered just after 5:00 AM and have been steaming up it at a snail's crawl for two hours. We are surrounded by ice bergs! No huge ones, but enough to give shivers! For the first time since our arrival in Alaska, I am cold.

That was yesterday and I needed a day to process all we saw. Not much commentary; the two of us enjoyed nature at its mosr pristine. I tried to capture some of its awe. I was astonished to hear water falling into the sea from a small waterfall nearly half a mile away. That is how quiet it was. We could hear the whoosh of the water as the ship passed the smallish icebergs. We exclaimed over and over about the mass of these bergs as not one ever moved when the ship slid by them.

Then we sailed into The Brothers section of Endicott Arm and for more than an hour as humpback whale after humpback whale blew and breached near the ship! I decided to quit trying to take pictures and just relish this experience! Our on-board naturalist commented at the end, "Any day you see a whale is a good day. That extraordinary day when you see so many you lose count is a day to remember forever!"

Leaving The Brothers, we sailed up The Arm until it deadended at Dawe's Glacier!!

So, in no real order, enjoy our balcony view:

Last night we indulged with formal dinner in Crown Grill. Melt in our mouths beef, grilled mushrooms and asparagus came after salad and Black and Blue Onion Soup (onion soup with tarragon, Jack Daniels and Roquefort crust!) All followed by Chocolate Infusion and Seven Layer S'More!!!!!

Two very happy travelers watched the sun begin to set at 10:45!! We just could not stay awake to see the full sunset! Maybe tonight!
