I know it seems like I never stay home, but, hey, one of the joys of retirement is doing what I want when I want! Right??
This morning Letreze dropped me off at JIA (only a LITTLE BIT out of her way) before gong to work. I started this trip off in the correct fashion - with a salute to Mom - by indulging in a couple of Mimosas! And a toasted English Muffin!
The flight to LaGuardia was seamless. Though the pilot apologized for a “slightly bumpy ride,” my Diet Coke hardly even jiggled on the tray.
I love The Paper Factory! It’s a hotel just oozing personality! This
chess set almost makes me wish I could play, but I have no head for strategy. Nor do I possess the patience to learn. Checkers is even occasionally beyond me
Checked in no problem, called Hoyt’s and was at Sheila’s by 4 to nosh and chat. I didn’t stay very long; her recovery from abdominal surgery is not happening fast enough for her. What a shock!! And she tires easily.
Tomorrow the forecasters were originally saying possible snow, now it’s supposed to be high in the mid 40’s, sunny and clear. Perfect day to wander the streets of Astoria and Long Island City.
