Welcome to Boston

Woke this morning to a blooming antherium - a good omen. I didn’t kill it like I thought I had!! I wish my Swamp Hibiscus would appear, but I have to be patient...not my best character trait.

Letreze was early to take me to JIA, so we stopped for a warm cheese Danish and coffee (hot for her, iced for me) at Royal Moose, the chose to drive through OP to avoid the toll road, rationalizing that as retirees, hurry was not our game plan. (Did I mention I received a toll-by-plate bill from Sun Pass?? Grrrrr)

Standing in Curbside check in at Delta, I dropped my teeth when the Delta official stopped two people before me and instructed all of us past her arm to go inside the terminal to drop our luggage as security was closing curbside check-ins indefinitely. Groan! The line must have been 75-100 people. THEN my Delta app forwarded the notification that the plane would be a minimum of 30 minutes late. I remained calm and thought of my antherium!
With more than 2 hours to wait for the altered boarding, I splurged on the Delta SkyMiles Club, had Mimosas to ease my frustration level, listened my latest Brad Meltzer novel and knitted. Bliss. I boarded in a relaxed and vacation-y mood.  Comfort Plus is excellent...I had lots of leg and tray table room.

Odd thing happened about half way through the flight, suddenly the intercom came on playing what sounded like a romance audio book scene of a woman telling someone about her previous night’s encounter with a man she wasn’t sure she recognized. After about 15 seconds it was silenced, but my seat mate and I quirked eyebrows at each other and smirked!

Barbara was waiting for me at Logan, my suitcase was second onto the luggage dispenser. We met our Uber driver and arrived at the Millennium Bostonian just in time for high tea - compliments of the hotel in celebration of the Chelsea (UK) Football (Soccer) team staying here for a charity game against the MLS
New England Revolution tomorrow night. (Barbara actually recognized one of the Chelsea players on the banner outside the hotel.  And we got to compliment the Executive her on her fabulous scones and clotted cream!!!!!

Alex at the front desk upgraded our room!! It excellent with a view of the Rose Kennedy Greenway! No balcony, but we have an awning, a bathroom big enough to host a Senior Prom and VERY comfortable beds!

We unpacked a bit, changed shoes and went out to explore. We walked through Faneuil Hall and Quincey Market to the Long Wharf and then into Legal Seafood! I was compelled to call brother Bill and let him where I was. I reveled in REAL fried clams and Barbara relished crab-stuffed shrimp!

After dinner we wandered around the Harbor Walk, stumbling on these gorgeous tulips!,  until the long day fought up with us and we headed back to the hotel.
