The title of this post summarizes quite succinctly my past few months. I have not gone far from home but have, nonetheless, moved on. By "moving on" I mean going forward.
I have not missed a bookclub meeting, which is remarkable considering our schedules seldom mesh. I relish my conversations with my fellow Bookminers too much to miss an opportunity to share (and argue) with them.

I entered three quilts in the Clay County Agricultural Fair and was awarded three blue ribbons, much improved over the one blue and two reds I garnered last year. My quilts were homage to the Caribbean/Margaritaville lifestyle of the Parrotheads, an acknowledgement of the patriotism that runs deep within me as well as pride on our Armed Services personnel and a reminder of the evening FB I spent in Lucerne, Minnesota last summer (I bought the scrappy diamond pattern there!)

I connected with a delightful woman I met on the last crossing I took. Tennika Hughes is an anchor on one of our local television stations. We had a wonderful 2 hour lunch and plan to meet regularly! If she looks familiar, she spent years as a TV news reporter in Charlotte.
Also, I finally finished my kitchen remodel I began more than 17 months ago. The last touch was finding the just perfect back-splash. Now I can have a party and celebrate!
The last interesting thing I've done in my forward motion is make a plant cry!
